TrueNAS Scale

TrueNAS Scale is the latest addition to the TrueNAS family of storage solutions from iXsystems. It is a highly scalable, enterprise-grade storage platform that allows organizations to easily manage and grow their storage capacity as their needs evolve.

Throughout the years TrueNAS has added many features in its products. It has also a “plugin-like” system called Jails. They are a lightweight, operating-system-level virtualization. One or multiple services can run in jails isolating those services from the TrueNAS system. Moreover it has added extensive support for Docker & Kubernetes.

Scale is a great addition to a homelab or to a corporate environment. Especially TrueNAS Scale , now that it’s stable, can be a VM inside a Proxmox Virtualization Environment.
